Sizzlers have taken over our palate. Every time I go out with my friends, they order sizzlers. There is so much to eat in a single dish, it’s overwhelming. The concept is relatively novel, too – an open, roasted, grilled, or shallow fried piece of meat, chicken, fish or vegetable patty, served with French fries, shredded cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, French beans etc., served on a hot metal or stone plate, with a wooden base. The best part about a sizzler dish is that it stays piping hot till the very end.
It’s a treat to the eyes. The beautiful, dense smoke enveloping the entire dish, with a lovely sizzle, makes for a dreamy setting.
Ever since it was introduced in Delhi, people are going crazy about Gola Sizzlers. My first taste of a sizzler, though, was in Gurgaon, and it left a lasting impact. For someone who could never appreciate the novelty, I was an instant convert. The sound of the sizzle, the floating aroma, and the taste made for a potent experience.
The standards of hygiene is critical in a place like Gola Sizzlers, and they have maintained it without any compromise. I have gone looking for sizzlers every where I go, but have never been able to experience the same delight that Gola Sizzlers provide. I know its not fair to compare a local sizzler joint with Gola Sizzlers, but how does one leave behind a taste that is so powerful and delicious?
